Object(s) of Desire

Speaking of Anais Nin.. For a while I've been hoping to introduce myself to her writing, knowing that it would be a bit of a scandal. Probably it's not something I should mention in this space, except to say that she is part of my Womanifesto. I can say that I felt some guilt at being offered the teacher discount for her book at the check-out counter. Obviously, the clerk doesn't know about Anais Nin or about the section of the store I snuck to to quickly peruse the authors; he didn't recognize my excitement in the form of a knowing smirk at finding Delta of Venus or my hurry to get to the counter.

Or maybe he did know. Maybe that's why he offered the discount.. Anyway, I'm reading her now. She's wonderful!

We write weekly on a common topic (Object(s) of Desire, this week) and post responses - all of us together, simultaneously, from all over the world. (Lovely!) Please visit Anu, Ashok, Conrad, gaelikaa, Grannymar, Judy, Magpie 11, Maria and Ramana for other wonderful posts.

Sorry Ginger, I am unable to read your post. The same problem of black page.

Ginger, I echo what Ramana says, My old eyes have difficulty with a) the small print and b) the ghosting effect caused by the shading or design of the background.

Hi,

Here's a blog that serves for your spiritual needs, and will surely be a blessing for you.

It has messages from the Holy Scriptures, taught by the Spirit of God.

These messages teach us how to have God in all the aspects of our lives and have God's rule over every matter :

www.holyoneofisrael-reconciliation.blogspot.com

Have a blessed reading and gladly write back if you need any prayer help.

God bless you and your family.

Why a scandal?

Didn't she say something about age and love? oh and about the why of love?

Tho' you cleverly managed to slip in the topic I wanted to avoid.... ie bodily desire...

I chuckled to myself when I read her name!

Ginger, thanks for the changed presentation. What a change it has made.

You stun me. Anais Nin yet! I relate to Magpie's comment. Chuckle? I choked to read her name on your blog! I thought that she now exists only on crossword puzzles. She was someone all the arty types that my late wife used to move around with read with enthusiasm and I had to read both her Little Birds and Delta of Venus so that I could understand what they were talking about. This was way back in the seventies! After all these years, she suddenly pops up in your blog!
