Because this is America, dammit. Couldn't agree with the last 20 seconds of that more.

Keith Olbermann is an odd one. One minutes I think he's a bag-o-hot air like the rest of the talking heads, but I find myself agreeing whole-heartedly with him here...
if this American ideal truly does exist, that is.

Wow...don't have cable so not familiar with him...but wow...

Yeahhhhh...I have so much to say...but I feel so jaded and still (not in motion) from trying to speak with those who chose to live in ignorance. The 9/11 tragedy is OUR tragedy...yes, even though I am Muslim, "OUR" still belongs to me. I was almost into my very 1st month of college when America stopped...literally...the streets were so empty that day. What filled the streets after the haze was much like the haze itself...indiscernible, multi-layered...we needed a filter just to be able to SEE each other once again. Our tears helped clear our eyes but it seems like there is a cloud of fear that has never settled since then. So many Americans put up this strong defense to prevent the "terrorists" from "taking over" that they fail to turn and view the other 359 degrees around them and realize just how much power WE have lost as citizens without being strong enough TOGETHER to defend our freedoms on our own soil. What is the most frightening is how many people are willing to give up our Constitution and willing to give up education altogether and instead grab onto...something so foreign in itself. The irony is sickening...

You're right...what kind of America do we want?

Thank you for the lovely post as always, G. *hug*

He's a blowhard but the facts are there and I agree. The mosque has been there and has a right to be. And a few blocks away is a long way in a crowded city -- it's not as if it will be facing the World Trade Center site.
